Highlights of the City of Memphis 2021 Contract
1. Longevity Pay Increased by $20.00 for every increment in the MOU.
- Beginning of the 4th year: $26 to $46
- Beginning of the 6th year: $38 to $58
- Beginning of the 11th year: $49 to $69
- Beginning of the 16th year: $60 to $60
- Beginning of the 21st year: $71 to $91
- Beginning of the 26th year: $99 to $119
- Beginning of the 31st year: $132 to $152
2. Shift differential increased for all shifts
- Shift between 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: $0.20 to $0.35
- Shift between 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.: $0.30 to $0.50
Employees who are assigned to these shifts and who serve for a period of six (6) consecutive months, shall at the beginning of the seventh consecutive month will receive an increase of:
- $0.20 to $0.25 (3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
- $0.25 to $0.35 (9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.)
3. Uniform Allowances increased
- $100.00 for the first year and $100.00 for the second year.
4. Reporting, Call-back, and Standby Pay Article 18: Increased from $0.25 to $0.75
- Section 3. When an employee reports to work and works in the snow or ice conditions, he shall be paid seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour for each hour worked in addition to the established rate of pay. Snow and ice conditions shall be determined by the days the City of Memphis school system is closed.
5. Pay Raise
- $5,000 for general full-time employees covered by this Memorandum of Understanding to be paid out into two equal payments: one payment of $2,500 in July 2021 and one payment of $2,500 in November 2021.
- The current wage rates for Pipelayers – Environmental and Drain – to be increased by 13.5%.
